2006 Annual Music Festival Competition
The 'Hatfield and District Music Festival' provides a platform for the performance
of music by candidates of all ages, either as soloists or in groups of two or more.
There are sections for piano, strings, woodwind, brass, recorder, voice, classical guitar and electric and acoustic guitar.
Classes within the sections are for ages from 8 years and under to adult and all levels and attainment catered for.
Adjudicators are chosen for their specialist knowledge of their section's instruments and their communication skills.
Specialist Prizes are awarded for outstanding performances and potential.
The Festival Prize Winner may be offered a performance with the Philharmonic at University of Hertfordshire Orchestra.
The 2006 festival will be taking place on:
25th & 26th March (piano and woodwind, recorder and brass);
1st and 2nd April (Strings, Guitar and voice) and 23rd April (finalists competition/concert).
Closing date for entries is the 24th January 2006.
